Also being in melee range when almost every enemy can one shot you in later stages is just not worth it. Yeah they are pretty meh after act 1. Not being able to crit is rough and they are almost unusable on most bosses.More primary skill-focused builds can result in a really difficult and punishing earlygame (especially coupled with the fact that Owl's only defensive Ascensions are not very strong) that eventually cascades into extreme value lategame.
